Stone floor restoration London.
This stone floor restoration consisted a total 300m2 of Portuguese Limestone. The tile flows through the ground floor of this Victorian home and out on to terrace. Internally we cleaned the stone, repaired a few cracks and resealed.
Unfortunately, some of the terrace tiles had cracked and lifted due to a poor installation but mainly due no expansion joints in place to allow for movement.
Stone floor restoration, identifying and sourcing.
We had a pretty good idea what this stone was from the beginning, once we confirmed this we had to import direct from the quarry. A bespoke order of a total 55 pieces of 1m square stone was replaced.
Stone floor restoration completed.
It took a week to remove and replace the damaged Limestone tiles. Once the new tiles were in place and grouted we made sure their was sufficient expansion joints in place to stop this happening again.
We chemically cleaned the existing stone with some re honing in places,
finished of with an external stone sealer.
