Slate floor clean and seal.

Our task was to get this Slate floor in Oxford clean new looking and healthy, presenting it at its best for the house to be put on the market. This 40m2 Slate floor has been laid for around 15yrs. Our clients undertook the maintenance of this floor themselves, re sealing the floor with a top sealer every year. 

The problem and the process….

Unfortunately the dirt had built up between layers due to the dirt not being removed properly before the Slate floor had more sealer applied over the years.

Using high pressure and hot temperature water we stripped all the sealer build up and dirt, leaving it clean and ready for the sealing process.

Finishing.

In this instance our client chose to have a top coat re applied. We went for a satin finish so to enhance the rich colours in this Chinese Slate and to give it a soft sheen.

On completion we left our customer with instructions on how to maintain this floor and to avoid unnecessary build up of dirt and sealer layers.
